DUANE C. FREEMAN
Duane C. Freeman, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at home in Fort Mohave, Arizona, surrounded by his loving family. Duane was born on February 29, 1936 in Warsaw, Hancock County, Illinois to Craig and Maysel (Jacob) Freeman.
On June 22, 1958, he married the love of his life, Laura Lee Harrison in Burnside, Illinois. Duane loved his country and served proudly in the Army until May 1963. After many years farming the family homestead in Illinois, in 1976 Duane, Laura and their three children moved to Mohave Valley, Arizona.
Duane and Laura enjoyed being self-employed and owned several businesses in Arizona including Laura’s Country Kitchen, the Book Worm, and the Paperback Book Exchange, which son Daren continues to successfully own and operate in Bullhead City, Arizona.
After 53 wonderful years together, Laura passed in 2012. Duane was also preceded in death by his parents, Craig and Maysel Freeman; and his infant son, Gregory Keith Freeman.
Duane is survived by three children, Alan (Jenny) of Moapa, Nevada, Becky (Jon) Schlussler of Elk Grove, California, and Daren (Sarah) in Fort Mohave, Arizona. Duane is also survived by his loving grandchildren; and many devoted friends and family, including the Jacobs, Harrisons, and Freys.
Duane and Laura will be eternally laid to rest in Pilot Grove Township, Hancock County, Illinois, next to their son Gregory.
Services will be private and determined at a later date
