Ralph Henry Karl Groveunder Jr. 1944-2019

Ralph Henry Karl Groveunder Jr., 75, of Bullhead City, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 16th, 2019. Ralph was born on February 4th, 1944 in Beaumont, Texas son of parents Ralph Henry Karl Groveunder Sr. and Edrie Erie Myers. Ralph was one of eight children (5 girls and 3 boys) who have given him many nieces and nephews.

Ralph is survived by his wife Lucinda (Cindy) Groveunder whom he had a lifetime romance with of 42 years. He was so good to his wife and constantly checked up on her and put her on a pedestal, making sure to always protect her from any harm but never denying her from living her own life. Ralph was very supportive and encouraged her to follow all of her dreams. He loved his 3 children, Shawn Groveunder, Shane Groveunder and Shannon “Groveunder” Nestjko very much, along with his grandchildren. Ralph also has his sister Linda Phillips and younger brother Glenn Groveunder.

Ralph worked in aerospace for twenty years at Hi Shear Corporation in Torrance, California and at Matrix Science Corporation in Montclair, California. He coordinated all the components for the Apollo Space Shuttle with Titanium. He was a foreman for over 1800 people at Hi Shear and also a foreman at Matrix Science Corporation where he also worked in aerospace.

Ralph worked at Riverside Resort & Casino from October of 1991 – June 2004 where he was a machine buyer, as well as dealt with all the vendors and invented the very first penny slot machine. Ralph was highly respected by Don Laughlin, and he worked very hard for Don. He really enjoyed Don Laughlin and was treated well by him.

Ralph was a champion ping pong player, played the drums, and was also an excellent dancer to any kind of music. Ralph also went to the police academy in Texas. He was a rock-hound/geologist and was very skilled and educated in any type of rocks, stones, jewelry and loved this hobby. He worked at Star Diamond in Lomita, California and became very interested and knowledgeable with his rocks, gems and jewelry. Ralph was very creative and always made his wife, Cindy’s, jewelry for every holiday and was also interested in art and painting.

This August 28th, 2019 Ralph would have celebrated 31 years of sobriety and 21 years of not smoking on January 11th. He was a wonderful, good-hearted man who was always making people laugh with jokes and puns, while putting others needs before his own. His heart was made of gold, and was very caring and very loving.

A Memorial Service will be held for Ralph at the Faith Fellowship Community Church on Tuesday, July 30th, 2019 at 2:00pm. It is located at 1725 Shamrock Rd., Bullhead City, Arizona 86442. 

Ralph touched many lives and will be truly missed by all those who were honored to know him and who loved him. He had a great outlook on life and of the people who shared it with him.
