Shirley Kay Franson
(1944 – 2020)

Shirley Kay Franson, age 76, passed away at home on Monday, June 15, 2020 in Bullhead City, Arizona. She was born in Charleston, West Virginia on January 5, 1944 to parents Claude and Sudia Kinder.

Shirley laughed easily and told the best jokes. She always lived in the moment, had many friends and always wanted to be with others, whether in person or over the phone. She lived life to the fullest of her abilities. Shirley traveled the country extensively throughout her life and lived in many states. After settling down in Washington State, she continued to travel across the country visiting relatives and friends. She traveled by car, many times alone or with the kids when they were young.

Shirley was a giving woman and was always wiling to help anyone who asked for or needed something. She led a life of honest work and finally retired from a management position at VFW Post 7952 in Richland, Washington. She provided for her children and loved each and all of them throughout her life. For Shirley, one of her greatest blessings was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She could talk endlessly about how proud she was of each and every one of them.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Sudia Kinder, four sisters; Clara, Eula, Natella, and Gloria Lee, and four brothers; Dempsey, Carmel, Seigel, and Glen.

She is survived by her sister, Frances Kinder Morris; four children; Diana (Brad) Allison, Deborah (Mike) Brown, Michael Franson, and Audra Lopez (Cherise Crawford) ; eight grandchildren; Ian, Paul, Shane, Jessica, Holley, Elias, Tristan, and Christopher, and five great-grandchildren; Eleanor, Evelyn, Oliver, Vera, and Brayden. She is also survived by her cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom she loved very much.

An opportunity for friends and family to gather and remember Shirley is not possible presently but we look forward to gathering and celebrating her life when circumstances allow.

Arrangements handled by Desert Lawn Funeral Home.
