Cramer Perry Grimes age 88 of Parker, Arizona passed away on November 8, 2021. He was born on September 18, 1934, in Windy Ridge, Green County, Pennsylvania to the late Parry and Helen (McCollum) Grimes.
He was a veteran, and made his living in the building trade, Cramer and his wife Helen made their living in the building trade. They built many homes, apartments, and started an industrial park, in North Canton, Ohio. There’s a street named after them, Grimes Street. His trade took him from Ohio to Parker, Arizona where he continued his trade. He built a motel on the Colorado
River, Harbor Inn. He owned it for a long time.
Cramer loved football; he was a devoted Pittsburgh Steeler Fan. Politics was his favorite
Subject to talk about. In later years you could find him in the casino playing Keno.
Cramer always had a special way of saying goodbye to his daughters on the phone, it was “Happy Daughters Day” and Monica and Sandy always knew it was Dad’s way of saying “I Love You”.
He is survived by Helen (Falb) Grimes, 2 daughters and their spouses Monica (Grimes) and Robert Levengood, Sandra (Grimes) and Joseph Dynarski, 3 Sons William Bill Grimes wife Ginger, Andrew Grimes, and Sherwin and Dee (Patterson) Grimes, and his sister Barbra (Grimes) Patterson, 9 Grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cramer had many good friends. One of them was Rodney from Hillcrest Bay. Rodney helped Cramer out in his later years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Helen (McCollum) and Parry Grimes, 4 brothers Ronald, Avril, Sherwin, Gerald Dean Grimes and Sisters Margery and Vivian Also a daughter Crystal Grimes Worthington, grandson Jon Worthington.
There will be a veterans memorial service for Cramer in Ohio this summer.
